Summer Fun Layout with Missy

Hey, friends!  Missy here.  I have a fun Summer layout to share today.  I decided to create an artsy background using several different Shimmerz products.  I chose three colors to start with: Spritz Caribbean Sunset, Vibez Pop Art Pink and Coloringz No Yoking.  I used two different stencils and sprayed through them.  I decided to add a brighter pink, so I brought in Coloringz Pink Stilettos and used the packaging technique.  My photo has a lot of blue in it, so I added just a small amount of blue to the background.  I also used a few gelatos and smudged them with my fingers.

I used bits and pieces from the Fancy Pants Joy Parade collection.  It's perfect for Summer photos!  I layered in a few tags and die cuts as well as a few epoxy stickers from the Amy Tangerine Rise & Shine collection.

I used a small grid stencil here.  Once I sprayed through it, I flipped it over and used it as a stamp.  I love the blending of colors.  I didn't even know what I was going to embellish with until I got the background colors down.  I love when things just match without even trying :)  I added some different colors of sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps.  They matched perfectly, too!

Layering is such a great way to create dimension on layouts.  I tucked in a few tags, circles and fun wonky stars.  I love that cute cloud from Amy Tan.

I used the packaging technique with the No Yoking here.  I used Creameez Ride the Tide and Shimmerz Winter's Mist to create these blue splatters.

Here you can see how different the gelatos look on the cardstock versus the ink sprays.  I didn't use any gesso on my cardstock, so the texture of it shows really well through all the products.

Here's a close-up of the bottom cluster.  I love all the mix of colors :)

Here's my process video if you'd like to check it out.  I hope you're inspired and get some fun ideas!

Stencils and Paste-eez / Felicity

Products used: Paste-eez - Tree hugger/ baby boy blue / peach fuzz
Coloringz - Oh say can U sea / Heidi ho blue

Hi there! Felicity back here again today with a layout using some of new Paste-eez and coloringz. I had a lot fun with this page.
First thing I did was use a stencil and a palette knife and scrap some paste-eez over the stencil. It didnt bother me that the colours touched other because these paste-eez blend so nicely together. I ended up with nice shades of green and blue and touch of the peach colour. So pretty together.

Then once they had dried, I fussy cut out the hearts. I applied some gesso to my page then used the coloringz to add some colour using some packaging.
I then adhere the hearts on top with some glue and the sewing machine.

I then build my page with lots of layers from varies embellishements.
I hope this inspires you today to use some stencils and paste-eez.

Happy crafting!

Remember, a vintage layout by Karine

Dear crafty friends,

It's my turn today to share my second inspiration for this month. I created a vintage layout called «Remember». Here it is.

On the picture, my father's parents with seven of his older siblings.

After a coat of clear gesso, I used a stencil with Salt of the Earth Paste-Eez. I love the matte finish on this texture paste. I dried it with my heat tool.

To add colors, I used Glorious Day Vibez, Don't Be Suede Coloringz and See Ya Latte' Spritz. For each color, I proceed the same way: I dipped my paint brush in the ink and flickered some color here and there and then, dried it with a heat tool.

I used some Oh Fudge AcriTonez to paint my squared chipboards pieces (the Checkerboard Clumps and the Messy Square Frame from 2Crafty Chipboard).

Finally, I covered my title piece (the «Remember» word that comes in the Friendship Mini Word Pack from 2Crafty Chipboard) with white gesso and when it was dried, I painted it with Glorious Day Vibez.

Record Your Story - Heritage Journal with Shona

Hello Shimmerz fans!! Today I have a share from my Heritage Journal I have been working on. The photo is my grandmother right around 1900.

I like to keep my journal pages flat as possible with few embellishments to achieve that. I add dimention with color and texture…and I start with stamping and stencil work. For the paste I used Salt of the Earth Paste-eez…it is perfect for stencils!

For added color I went with Mon Shari Coloringz and Hot Fudge Vibez. Such a pretty combination!

To finish it all off I added some splatters of Penny 4 Your Thoughts Inklingz.
